Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1st 1970) was born in Chennai. Lakshmi was just two years old when her parents divorced. Her mother emigrated to the United States to escape the stigma of divorce in India. Lakshmi lived in Chennai with her maternal grandparents for two years, before moving to the United States. Both of her parents later got married and she has a younger half-brother as well as a half-sister on her father's side. Lakshmi's name has been linked to the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity and wealth. Her birthplace was in New York and raised in Los Angeles. She would visit India for a short period of time every year to visit her relatives. Padma Lakshmi discovered acting was something she was interested in during 1999. Her first film role was in Figlio di Sandokan (an Italian pirate film). Then, she was an important role in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers), the drama about pirates of the 17th century. In 2001 she was also host of Italy's highest-rated TV show, 'Domenica In. She was in a hilarious part as a disco-singing singer in a movie called 'Glitter. Padma has a child, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell along with Adam Dell. Adam Dell is a venture capitalist. Krishna was born on February 20th, the 20th of February, 2010. She was also married to Teddy Forstmann who is the former CEO and chairman of IMG. Lakshmi is currently dating American venture capitalist Adam Dell and the pair share a daughter, Krishna. While she had initially kept her identity and location of her child's father a secret, Lakshmi revealed that he was Dell. "Everything is more enjoyable when she's around," she said of her daughter. "Anything that occurs from the start of the day until the end. I have no interest in anything other that her.
