Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born May 12, 1972, is an American actress. She is most well-known for playing attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), where she is a two-time winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress - Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She also appeared on the NBC show Whitney (2011–2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash 2011–2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 12 on the 12th of May, 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant in the United States Navy, and her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative Service. She was raised in a family who moved often, which included the cities of Washington, D.C., Arizona and Japan. Following in the footsteps of her father and grandmother, she studied painting, drawing and architectural design from very young. She continued pursuing the art of drawing, but also developed an increased interest in acting and was introduced into contemporary theater in college. In 1994, she graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. Seehorn, who was a student and was looking to enter the theater after being encouraged by her acting teacher. She was employed in ancillary positions within the industry of theater in D.C. to try to be noticed. The result was some important parts in local theater productions but had to find odd jobs to help make ends meet; she took roles in several short instructional films. Soon, she began to be cast in more television productions, usually in roles she thought were "very humorous, sarcastic, well-informed women", similar to her idol Bea Arthur. Many of these parts were then cancelled after only one or two seasons. Seehorn was selected to play Kim Wexler on the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul in May 2014. Seehorn is Kim Wexler, who is an attorney and the lover of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
