Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli American singer and actress was born on 20th October 1983 in Herzliya. Following her service in the Israeli Defense Forces, she began her professional career. Her breakthrough was in 2003 when she starred in an Israeli film. She also appeared in two Israeli television series at the time. She also tried her hand at music and made several tracks with Subliminal who is an Israeli rapper. Tal was moved in with her sister in New York to take a vacation from her professional life. In the hit song "Party to Damascus" she was part of the collaboration with Wyclef Jean from Haiti. She also established herself on American TV, starting by playing a recurring character in the series Veronica Mars: She originally was a candidate for the lead however the creator Rob Thomas wrote a new character exclusively for her. Tal eventually earned an established role on the CBS series. Prior to going to New York, Tal starred in two Israeli TV shows. Wyclef Jean wrote a song. Hebrew is her mother tongue. She was second in the role as Veronica in Veronica Mars (2004).Originally she auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice for the title role. Thomas was so in love with her that he created the regular character of Meg Manning just for her. He was in The Israel Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jewish. Her father is Turkish/Jewish and her mother is Polish/Jewish. She plays Adrian Monk's wife, who was murdered in the last episode of Monk (2002).
