Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actor, director, and musician. She has helmed numerous episodes of TV that include Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She was also the Co-EP/Producing director of Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently a part of two pilots in production. Milena was chosen as one of the eight directors in AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Unspeakable was her TV show as well as a short film. With Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort the film was awarded the award for Best Episodic at Seattle International Film Festival as in addition to Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The short film Temporary (2017 produced by Milena Vandervoort) has been screened across the United States. It was awarded Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has appeared in over 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) which was a Dick Wolf series, was her second major character. The result was her being the Emmy-winning woman detective on Law & Order (1990). She has been featured in a number of other showslike K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family); and in the role of Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has also been featured in many films, such as Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011), starring opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015), starring with Method Man; and the features Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena was born in Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian of her high school, before she graduated with a double major vocal performance and a premedical degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She also graduated as valedictorian. In the following years she benefited from her classical ballet background to perform on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production of 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
